Head of Youth Services

Ms. Leslie has worked at the library for over twenty years filling a variety of roles.  She has watched lots of children grow from preschool storytime attendees to parents themselves, bringing their children back to the library and asking, “do you still have the electric train?”
Her responsibilities include department management, program coordination for children’s and teen services, providing storytime and book club, and reference librarian.
When she is not at the library she likes to be outdoors in her garden, at the beach or in the country, preferably on a bike!  Aside from her family, her two close companions are her fluffy pups, Emmett and Lilly.  Her favorite place to read a book?  At the beach, by a river, here, there, anywhere:)
She is always here to help. Feel free to contact her via phone, email, or in-person. She can be contacted at larmstrong@locustvalleylibrary.org.

Lauren has been a youth services and reference librarian here since 2018, hosting storytimes for the little ones, the monthly Junior book club, and more!
Some of the things Lauren loves most are: poetry, spooky stories, and being in nature.
She has two very amazing cats, Lionel Rose and Theodore Valentine. Lauren is also a fiction writer; ask Lauren a writing question or ask her for a book recommendation today!
